Sorry in advanced if I dont' get to respond to everyon's comments on this picture, 'cause I get them a lot! I wholeheartedly appreciate your comments/feedback and do read them.
Below I've put an FAQ to answer some common questions I receive here. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to note me!
FAQ
How did you make it?
My helmets are crafted from primarily foam-board and wood, with a special primer mix to give it a rough cast-iron texture.
How long did it take you to make them?
About 12 days of solid work, or several months if you're insanely busy (like I am these days).
How do you see out of it?
The sides are fitted with 4 layers of screen door mesh. The inside of the helmet is dark, so people can't see in, but the wearer can see out very easily.
Do you take commissions on these? If so, how much do they cost?
I do take commissions on these very rarely (I have made one and have refurbished and sold my original). When I do make them, I usually take a very long time to finish them, as I'm a busy person (aren't we all?). As far as pricing goes, that's usually a case-by-case issue, though you can probably expect to pay anywhere from $350 to $500, plus a monstrous shipping fee of $160. If you are interested in purchasing one, feel free to send me a note, or keep an eye on my journal, as I plan on putting some up for sale this year hopefully (2010).

What did you guys use for the red makeup on your hands? I'm cosplaying PH this summer and I was trying to figure out a makeup that wouldn't easily smudge/wipe off... but I'm kind of afraid to just use something like acrylic paint
